HighLight: Carnival of Lights is back in town to light up the hutt

HighLight: Carnival of Lights is back to take over the Hutt’s Riddiford Garden with whimsical installations exploring being lost in time, wilderness, love and even space.

From a supersized trumpet flower garden and towering mushrooms to quirky creatures like Sal the Snail and Regal Peacock, guests are in for a Labour Weekend they won’t forget. The jam-packed programme of live performances, hands-on activities and delicious food and drink will leave guests wanting to get lost on purpose.

Visitors of all ages can enjoy the free 2019 carnival, which saw 130,000 visitors last year experience its mesmerising illuminated installations and performers.

The event will offer guests a jam-packed programme with local and international art and a world class live performance line-up. On top of this, HighLight visitors can enjoy a bustling food village made up of local favourites and fireworks above the gardens every evening.

This year sees the carnival partner with charity White Ribbon to raise awareness and money for its work in combatting family violence against women in New Zealand.

Highlight: Carnival of Lights is on over Labour Weekend from Friday, 25 October to Monday, 28 October from 8pm – 11pm. Free entry, find out more at highlight.org.nz.
