Hutt Science is on a mission to empower young people in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects. And, they’ve not let lockdown get in the way.
Hutt Science have kept in touch with local schools and offered support for science teaching by ensuring that all teachers have online access to teacher manuals and student worksheets for all of their science resource kits. They also have access to a dedicated YouTube Channel showing science activities linked to the science kits that can be done at home.
They have even organised Virtual Scholarship Workshops for senior secondary students who are potential candidates for the end of year scholarship, starting next week – these will be free and available to all school students in the greater Wellington area.
Anne Ryan, Director of Hutt Science says:
We’re really passionate about ensuring all schools and kids have access to high quality resources, programmes and teachers who are confident to teach STEM subjects. After all, these kids are our future scientists, environmentalists, educators, thought-innovators, and future-thinkers, so it’s important to inspire them. The team at Hutt Science have been working hard throughout lockdown to ensure that our efforts continue.”
