It’s Super Shot Saturday in Lower Hutt

We are joining forces with the rest of the country to bring Super Shot Saturday – New Zealand’s national day of action against COVID-19 – to Lower Hutt. We want to see our city achieve the highest rates of vaccination across all our communities.

“Getting the vaccine is the most effective way to protect our whānau, friends, colleagues, and communities from COVID-19, and will keep us safe now and throughout the summer,” says Lower Hutt Mayor Campbell Barry.

“It’s important that we all do our part, whether that means getting the vaccine yourself, or having a conversation with a friend or family member who are unsure about getting the jab.”

Hutt City Council Chief Executive Jo Miller says “as an organisation we are unashamedly pro vaccination and committed to being leaders in the rollout of the Covid vaccination across our city. This is to ensure the health of staff, and support our purpose of enabling our city and all of our people to thrive.”

With summer now just eight weeks away, we’re encouraging everyone to get jabbed today (you don’t have to wait till Saturday to get the vaccine). With three weeks between first and second jabs, it gives you enough time to ensure you’re fully protected when our city’s summer programme kicks into gear.

Stay up to date by checking out the vaccine sites across Hutt Valley and beyond that are open now, and over the following days and weeks:
