National Remembrance Service

A National Remembrance Service for the victims of the Christchurch mosques terrorist attack, and all those affected by it, will be held at 10am on Friday 29 March. 

The service will be held in Christchurch in Hagley Park and will be jointly led by the Government of New Zealand, the city of Christchurch, Ngāi Tahu and the Muslim community.

The service will be simultaneously broadcast to events in Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin. Lower Hutt residents are welcome to attend the event at Wellington’s Waitangi Park, or to watch coverage of the national event at the following Hutt City Council community facilities:

  • Eastbourne Library
  • Koraunui Stokes Valley Community Hub
  • Moera Library
  • Naenae Library
  • Petone Library
  • Wainuiomata Community Hub
  • Walter Nash Centre, Taita
  • War Memorial Library
