Tamariki enjoying the bubbles and slip ‘n’ slide at Riddiford Gardens Play Day

Summer Play Days a big hit

Bubbles, junk play, water play, sport play, arts and crafts, and the famous slip ‘n’ slide! All great reasons to get outside and play this summer.

The Active in the Hutt team are back for more and are hosting a series of Play Day events around Lower Hutt over summer.

These events are free, tamariki and whānau can enjoy outdoor play in whatever way they like.

Event staff Danielle Bolton and Hannah Milne are glad to be back delivering the events.

“The Play Days have been a huge success so far and we are ecstatic to bring them back again this summer. It’s great seeing so many families out getting active and playing together. We can’t wait to enjoy another summer of play with a full-on schedule of Play Days around the city over the next few months.”

Mother of two Lindsey raved about the Play Day they attended this week at Hikoikoi Reserve in Petone.

“My two little ones LOVED the water play, bubbles and all the space to just run around. The staff were amazing. I had my not-yet-one year old there, so they helped my three year old with the water slide. They were great! It was great to be able to do something different so close to home.”

Catch the team at their next Play Day, this weekend on Saturday 14 December at Hikoikoi Reserve, Petone 10am – 12pm.
